Inspired By Stamping

Hi All, Today’s post is about a sweet simple card set that is quick easy PLUS be mass produced!
Supplies – 4 x4 white card stock base, 3 3/4 inch black matting or plain pattern paper, water colour card stock twine, circle dies, distress inks and an aqua brush.
Steps –
  1. I first heat embossed using clear embossing powder on the black cardstock, you can use any striped stampset or background stampset such as Inspired By Stamping Basics Lines OR alternatively you can use pattern paper. I wrapped some white and gold twine around the black cardbase towards the top and mounted this on the white card base.
  2. I die cut white cardstock with a stitched circle die. Inspired By Stamping has one that is in their Fancy Labels 3 Nesting Dies collection.  I have used the Fancy Circles stampset as they have beautiful script medium size sentiments perfect for a multiple of occasions with Versafine Onyx Black Ink stamped on the top right of each circle die cut.
  3. For the flowers I have used the Flower of the Month “Poppies  which  I stamped the images with Distress Inks Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick & Ripe Persimmon on water colour cardstock . I used my aqua brush pentel pen to drag colour from the stamped image and picked up extra colour to  colour the alternate leaves adding contrast to the petals. Each flower was then cut individually and placed on the bottom right of the circle.
I created these cards production line format where I took each step and repeated it as many times as I needed for each set. I made 3 sets each for my kids school teachers to give for the end of year presents.  Hope you enjoyed today’s blog post and don’t forget to visit the Inspired By Stamping blog for more inspiration and tutorials. –

Inspired By Stamping – Elegant Poppies Card

Hi All,
Welcome to today’s card creation.
I made this card using a colour wash technique with a re-inker and a large flat brush.
Before any colour goes on I have heat embossed with white embossing powder on water colour cardstock with the Inspired By Stamping Poppies stampset.
For the colour wash I used a water colour cardstock base which I prepped first by brushing water over the card base.
The re-inker of choice is Midnight Muse which is a deep muted navy blue which I have dipped by brush in water then in the re-inker pool.
Using a smaller brush I have highlighted the flower to help highlight and bring in a deeper colour on the flower.
I have added water droplets on the card and sapped them up with a napkin to make lighter water splotches all over the card to add detail.
To finish of embellishing the card I have added linen thread around the card. I have chosen  linen thread to leave this card have a clean and elegant look without over embellishing it.
The stampset has some beautiful sentiments which I have also used for the card and stamped in Midnight muse ink on whisper white card stock.

I have made with the new July Release week stampset “Poppies“.
I have played with Distress Inks as a colour wash for the back ground of the first card. I have used white heat embossing powder and heat embossed the stampset on vellum.
I have used a spellbinders die for the sentiment with gold foil cardstock and have embellished the card with Sparkling Clear sequins.
For card 2 I have I have repeatedly stamped and heat embossed then coloured with distress inks. To mute the brightness I have placed vellum over the top of the whole card base. To embellish the card I have used spellbinders die cut in foil cardstock and stamped with Chestnut Roan ink.

Hope you enjoyed today’s cards and the inspiration the other design team members have created.

Inspired by Stamping Poppies Stampset

Hi All,
Welcome to today’s card feature for the July Release stampset. Today’s release is the Poppy stampset. This stampset is such a beautiful flower set and would make a great addition to your Inspired By Stamping Collection.
This is such a pretty flower set and I can’t stop playing and colouring with it.
To colour the images I have played with my peerless watercolour set.
For the cardstock base I have used Canson 185 gsm watercolour cardstock.
I have kept this card simple and have added a strip of orange cardstock to add a little touch of solid colour to finish of the card.
