Spellbinders | Photosynthesis Collection by Simon Hurley

Hi all and welcome to today’s blog post from Spellbinders, the Photosynthesis Collection by Simon Hurley is a release that is not only stunning the variety of dies and glimmer plate sentiments not only compliment each other but are great for stretching for further cardmaking use.

For today’s card, I have used Must-Have Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set, Floral Stems Etched Dies, Modern Stripes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Ceramic Vases base Etched Dies from the collection. For die-cutting all the florals I used a pattern paper watercolour pack. For the background panel, I added gold foil stripes with the Modern Stripes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate as an added element to ground my floral die-cut floral arrangement. I kept the rest of the card very clean and simple leveraging the colour arrangement of the florals with a similar pink background matting panel.

Spellbinders | Photosynthesis Collection by Simon Hurley

Hi all and welcome to today’s blog post from Spellbinders, the Photosynthesis Collection by Simon Hurley is a release that is not only stunning the variety of dies and glimmer plate sentiments not only complement each other but are great for stretching for further cardmaking use. One thing I love about Spellbinder is that I can always mix and match every collection so that it is not isolated to just use with each release only but you can continue usage with multiple collections.

For today’s card, I have used Must-Have Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set, Floral Stems Etched Dies, and Ceramic Vases base Etched Dies from the collection. For die-cutting all the florals I used a pattern paper watercolour pack, I used the Kraft cardstock for the pot plant base for a neutral placement for the florals. For ease of mass production, I also made gold, teal, and rainbow foil sentiments. The reason why this was easy to mass-produce as it comes with coordinating dies. I am not usually one to make sure I have coordinating dies for sentiments as I can use my cutter bee scissors but the convenience was pretty awesome. I am not going to lie, I have loved having coordinating dies in this instance. I mounted the vase, sentiment and floral die cuts onto a white circle stitched circle die on a woodgrain background pattern paper from my hoard vault.

Spellbinders | Four Petals

Hi all, welcome to today’s blog post where I have used the Wonderful Tulips Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from the Four Petal Collection. To make for a quick and easy card I used my aqua brush and coloured the tulips with Distress Oxide ink refills. I love stretching my craft supplies even further like watercolouring. It’s not perfect but it was so much fun to do. I used the coordinating die to cut the image out and mounted it to a side folding white card base which I have lightly ink blended with scattered straw Distress oxide ink. To finish the card off I stamped the sentiment with Barn Door distress oxide ink.

Craftie Cafe: Congratulations Card

IMG_9877

Welcome to today’s blog post. Today I have made a wedding / congratulations card. I always love colouring floral images whether it be by copics, pencils or different watercolouring mediums.

Today I have stamped the Wplus9 Beautiful Bouquets Ranunculus with Distress Oxide Ink vintage photo. Now even though this bleeds a little when watercolouring it softens and added a vintage water colour  look to the over all image. The bleed is very subtle but enough to add a beautiful look.

For the backgrounds I have played with the Heidi Swapp Minc foil machine and the reactive mist and sprayed all over an old designer series paper.

I have used copper thread & sequins from Brittney Lee Etsy shop to embellish the card.

Don’t forget to stop by my you tube to watch how to make this card.

Craftie Cafe: Lawn Fawn Cheery Christmas Card

Jo Herbert - 160517 - Christmas - Picture 1

Hello paper crafting peeps and welcome to today’s blog post. I am preparing for working on my Christmas in July projects. Now I know it’s a bit early to start working on it but the key for me as a full time worker, mum of 3 very active kids plus having an awesome hobby is to be organised and prepare. Around this time I start sketching out card layouts and designs that I can make in bulk. The colouring of the stamped images are what took the longest however when I mass produce this card I will get the kids to help with the stamping and colouring therefor making it into a family event.

All products and supplies are available at the Craftie Cafe store. Links below in the supplies table.

Happy Paper Crafting.

Inspired By Stamping : Card & Tag set

Hi All, welcome to today’s blog post. Today I play with gold foil cardstock with the red poinsettias making a statement piece on both the card and co-ordinating tag. Making these types of sets are so much fun to make and look so good when giving it to a recipient.
See below instruction on how I made this set.
Card
Step 1. Dry emboss with your die cutting machine a white piece of cardstock that with an embossing folder, I have used a 3D embossing folder adding a geometric modern touch to the card.
Step 2. Die cut all the layers that will be needed for the card. I have die cut a scalloped stitched rectangle border cut in gold foil (cut 2 of these as you will need the second one for the tag) and a stitched circle cut out in white cardstock.
Step 3. Mount with the gold foil scalloped border on a gold striped foil designer series paper.

Step 4. The “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Inspired By Stamping “Festive Greetings” stampset has been heat embossed on a white stitched circle cardstock.
Step 5. To add a pop of colour to the card I have used an Inspired By Stamping paper poinsettia.
Tag
Step 1. Die cut a white & a Gold Foil cardstock with any tags of your choosing. Place the gold tag behind the white slightly lower to create another layer to the tag. I used just the bottom portion of the gold foil tag and kept the top half for another project.
Step 2. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder the “Merry Christmas” sentiment on the tag.

Step 3. Place gold glitter washi tape as the first layer on the tag.
Step 4. Using the rectangle scallop border cut out an edge and add to tag as a scalloped trim border.  This is another great way in using what you have and not necessarily being the whole die cut piece is needed.
Step 5. Add the poinsettia to the tag and you are done.
This is my last post for the year and I hope you all have a blessed Christmas and look forward to making new creations with Inspired By Stamping goodies as a design team member again.  Please also visit my blog – joanneherbert.blogspot.com.au
Wish lots of love, hugs and prayers. Jo
