Catherine Pooler – Jolly Holiday Slimline card

Hi All, I have been absolutely been loving the new Jolly Holiday release and particularly how lovely the Jolly Trees stampset. This stampset has been so versatile and awesome for layering ink colours. For today I have done a quick and simple card of straight stamping with Eucalyptus and Green Tea ink. For the Christmas centre tree I have heat embossed with Metallic Rich Gold embossing powder and die cut out and placed on Cranberry Fizz ink panel and cut closely around to foam mount on.

I place and stamped the trees on the bottom of the slimline panel. Cut a panel of pattern paper and mount on a Cranberry Fizz ink blended panel. Die cut the new Merry Christmas word die three times. Press the top word die into the cranberry ink and adhere all down on the pattern paper strip.

Place the whole card panel on a navy slimline card panel.

Now onto my card creations. Today, I have made 3 cards using a variation of WOW! Embossing Powder products – Sparkles, Embossing Glitters and straight-up super fine powders.  I have used the same stampset from Gerda Steiner Designs – Carol Puppies Stampset and watercoloured them in with the Altenew paint pan pallet.

I first stamped the images using my MISTI with Versafine Onyx black ink which I then watercoloured the images in. I set aside to dry then I restamped the image over the top of the watercolour images to get a good crisp black image over the top.

Card 1 - Jo

For the first card I used Coconut Ice embossing glitter on the die-cut diagonal frame by pressing the clear ultra slow drying ink direct on the diecut. It is hard to capture the embossing glitter in a photo but it really makes for a fabulous die glitter cardstock panel. The sentiment has been heat embossed with Angel Eyes from the Ferryman Trios set.

card 1a - Jocard 2 - Jo

Second card  I have heat embossed a scalloped circle die cut with Salsa embossing glitter. I have also roughly swiped  the pennant edge with ultra slow drying ink and poured neptune embossing glitter. Card 2a - Jo

For the last card I have used the Flamingo Sparkles and created my own paste with Texture Gloss paste. Using a plastic spatula I have mixed the sparkles and texture paste and spread it like butter over a poinsettia stencil. Card 3 - Jo

I hope you enjoyed today’s card creations for the hop.

WOW! Embossing Powder & A Jillian Vance Design Collaboration Blog Hop

Yay, it’s time for another blog hop.

WOW! Embossing Powder is collaborating with the beautiful A Jillian Vance Design   creative team.

It wouldn’t be a hop without PRIZES, right?

Both WOW! Embossing Powder and A Jillian Vance Design will be giving away a $25 Gift card each to our stores.

So there will be TWO winners!

This hop will run for a week only and the winners will be announced on Friday, October 28th. So, be sure to check back on WOW! Embossing Powder and A Jillian Vance Design blog then.

To be entered to win a prize all you need to do is leave a comment here and each of the designer’s blog posts PLUS on both WOW! Embossing Powder and A Jillian Vance Design. I have included the full line up list below.

But first here are a couple of my cards for the hop.

I tried to get a slightly muted mint ombre blending going on here. To do that I used Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink for the darkest layer.
Tip: if you don’t have all the colors in a collection I tend to add grey tones and some times a brown tone depending on the colour hues I am playing at the time.
For the first card I played with the Jingle all the Way stampset. and repeat heat embossed with Opaque Bright White embossing powder the jingle bells repeatedly to create my own background.
I tried to keep with the ombre theme with the sentiment as well by pressing the sentiment with the lightest ink first then working m way to the darkest and being really gentle with tapping on the ink working my way up the stamp.
For my second card, I have heat embossed a whole panel of the Vintage Peacock Embossing Glitter then die cut the Jingle Bells out. I did the same for the Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter.
TIP: I usually heat emboss heaps of panels in a variety of colors ready to die-cut for future projects.
I delved into my hoard vault of papers and found this Teresa Collins Tinsel and Company paper. Do you guys do the same? I have a tone of paper in my hoard vault LOL

Kat Scrappiness : Merry Critters Waterfall Card

Hi all, welcome to today’s blog post where I have made a waterfall card with the brand new Merry Critters stampset from Kat Scrappiness.

I have copic coloured each of  these little cuties in. My paper of choice is from Pinkfresh Oh Joy 6″ x 6″ pack.

The main mechanism is the waterfall rectangle. It measures 2″ x 8″ and scored at 2″, 2 1/2″, 3″ & 3 1/2″.

The anchor measures 3/4″ by 4 1/8″. My tip with the anchor is to only place really strong adhesive on the outer edge only.

Slip the longer part of the waterfall compinent behind the anchor. THis will be your pull down function.

Cut up 4 pieces of the 2″ x 2″ square in cardstock.  Adhere some pattern paper 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ on top of the cardstock. These panels are the square panels that need to be adhere straight on the ling rectangle pull mechanism.

I have made a quick process video for you all. Sit back get a cuppa and hop you enjoy today’s creation.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments and support everyone.

Hugs

Poinsetta Card – Inspired By Stamping

OK let me start with a warning! I love this stampset. There is so much potential and versatility I squealed with excitement when I first laid eyes on it. Below I have Copic coloured in one card and Heat Embossed on vellum in  the other.

Copic Colouring is one of the most relaxing things I love doing. I am still learning and continuing to learn every day especially when it comes to copics. There is so many facets to colouring and adding dimension to an image and it is even more fun when you have a fabulous stampsets to do it with. Inspired By Stamping have an awesome array of stampsets that you can copic colour with.
I have used 4 stampsets for this card to achieve the end result. I kept the colour scheme to Cherry Cobbler, Vintage Sepia, and Crumb Cake. Instead of using the traditional Black Momento I have used Rich Cocoa as I didn’t want to out line to be too dark.
To embellish the card I have used gold sequins and cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon. Very light sponging has been added around the sides of the card to make the very vanilla cardstock not so stark.

Card 2

Here I have heat embossed the poinsettia image twice with white embossing powder. My embossing powder of choice is Stampendous Detail White.  To embellish the centre of the poinsettia I have used an Antique brad. The front layer of the poinsettia  I selected and fussy cut some leaves that I felt would work well to create dimension to the card. I have gone traditional colours of cherry cobbler red, always artichoke green, white with a touch of gold.  The gold glittered & dotted vellum cardstock just adds enough sparkle without going too overboard.

For the greeting I have used the Holiday Tags stampset as this is such a cute little greeting stampsets for cards.
Hope you enjoyed the 2 samples I have made for you today. Happy Paper crafting peeps.
