One thing I like to do is create my own glitter paste with Transparent Gloss texture paste and mix it up with the WOW! Embossing Powder Sparkles or Earth Sparkles. I like making my own for the projects that I need so I don’t have to buy a whole jar of glitter paste and just make my own as I need it. For my first card I have used the Holiday Bliss pattern paper for the card base. For the coloured inked panel I have swiped the the navy panel around the edges to create a matted panel which I have also done the same for the layered die cut sentiment. For all my projects I have used both the Merry and Bright stencil and the Holly stencil.
For a different effect but still playing with pastes as a medium I have used embossing paste. Instead of mixing the sparkles within the paste I place the paste through the Holly stencil and while wet and tacky pour the Oh Dorothy sparkle over the top. I set aside to dry the panel. Now as the sparkle is sitting on top and not embedded into the the paste you will get some fall out. What I recommend is get a light fluffy brush and brush over the top gently to swipe away any excess. The embossing paste works pretty well however it is a tip I recommend to do to prevent you wearing the sparkles LOL.
For this card I have pressed my WOW! ultra slow drying ink pad through the stencil on white cardstock and have generously poured the Cranberry Sparkle over the top to heat set. For the sentiment I have die cut and heat set the first layer with Metallic Rich Gold. This gold in super fine is one of my go to powders. It is a staple in my stash and it has such a beautiful sheen and regal effect to the type of finish gold result.
This card I have done the same technique as card 1. The only thing differently I did is the sentiment where I created my own embossed glitter card stock. I heat embossed a whole panel by pressing my ink to my card stock and generously pouring the embossing glitter and heat setting it. I then die cut the sentiment out and adhere it down to the card front. This particular card design is the size of a standard slimline card.
