Uniquely Creative August Stamp & Colour Kit

Hi All, Jo here and welcome to my very first blog post. Today I am playing with the Flying By stampset from the August Stamp & Colour Kit. I love bold and vibrant colours and this is always something I have been drawn too when I first started crafting. That doesn’t mean to say I knew how to put these colours together though. I started off with appreciating each colour and educating myself with the colour wheel. I still prefer to keep it simple though. So having said all that I have played with some bold and bright colours but sticking to each card with a monochromatic feel.  I purchased a pack of extra fine point sharpie markers and found that the Catherine Pooler Ink really coordinated well with the markers. They weren’t the exact match but close enough to what I needed for my card designs.  IMG_8890

Step 1. Once I have chosen my ink colour I randomly stamped the bird images working from largest to the smallest. I tried to work in triangles as much as possible. IMG_8884

Step 2. I then start the “dotting” process with my sharpie marker working my way from the top to the bottom covering the whole card front panel.

Step 3. With the Sweet Sentiment dies, die cut with a card stock colour closest to the ink and pen markers. So the first / bottom layer of the cardstock is coloured and I have used white cardstock for the top layer for the sentiment. To adhere these down I have used liquid adhesive.

Step 4. Finally, with the same coloured card stock I have heat embossed with WOW! Embossing Powder in Opaque Bright White Super Fine powder for the “happy” from the Sweet Sentiments Builder Stampset on a strip of cardstock.

I have created a process video for you to watch this bright cardset.
